Inspiration (noun)
The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.
I'm not the best at art. Haha honestly I don't believe i'm anywhere remotely near professional. But that's the best thing about art, the fact that you don' have to be good at it for it to be seen as beautiful. Since I was a young girl, I always looked up to people like Buddha, John Lennon, Aristotle, to be my "inspiration." What kid wouldn't want to understand the meaning of life, and reach enlightenment and nirvana like Buddha? What kid does not want to be known for their outrageously radical music, and be considered one of the most influential people in history, spreading peace, love and happiness to all? What child does not want to be one of the worlds best philosophers?
I have never had a role model that I actually had a big chance of being like. Looking at others artists work is all dandy and everything, but I do not pull inspiration from looking at Picasso's, or Frida Kahlo's, Or Edvard Munch. I can not say that I am inspired by looking at Edvard Munch's, Claude Monets, or Van Goh's paintings, but I can say that I admire their work. Inspiration to me, means going into art class everyday, and seeing Ms. Margres in the front of the class, teaching with a positive attitude, every day. Inspiration to me, is seeing Ms. Margres's journal assignments, and thinking to myself, "how can I top that?" Inspiration to me is pushing myself to my artistic limits, to create something that will make myself as content, as seeing Ms. Margres's art work. Sure it's easy to pick a famous person to be inspired by, they're living your dream. But, to be inspired by a normal person, makes you feel like you can do it a little more.
But Inspiration does not necessarily have to be a person. Every day I wake up, and go for a run; at four in the morning. Everything is dark at that time, but the darkness amplifies the hearing. Hearing the sounds of nature, birds alarming us to rise, crickets hushing to rest, it all creates inspiration for me. Being outdoors, whether it is at four in the morning, or three in the afternoon, or six fifty during the sunset, creates a feeling of complete tranquility. Although it is sometimes good to see what you are able to create while mad, sad, or when you are letting your demons win. I have found that some of my best art has been produced while I am calm, and thinking about the way the sun warms my pores and fills my body.
